Most of us can recall making spring-inspired crafts for Easter ; at home, school, or one time or another.

“I’ve always enjoyed crafting during the Easter period. It’s one of those things that instantly brings me back to my childhood. It all started during primary school with the annual Easter Egg Decorating competiton, where eager students and competitive parents strived to produce the winning egg scene.

We never won but it never mattered, and it certainly didn’t dent our confidence either. I was eggspecially proud of my Humpty Dumpty but quite frankly, I never stood a chance against the rock scene concert.”

“The best part about crafting over the Easter period is that where there’s a great craft for the kids, there’s always a stylish equivalent for us to enjoy as well. So if you’ve got children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren or younger siblings, it’s a great chance to have a group crafting session.

One of the crafts that I’m definitely going to try over the Easter bank holiday weekend are these lovely hollow eggs, pictured below. I would display these in my home all year round. They’re so pretty and similarly to painted ostrich eggs, make wonderful ornaments not just evocative of Easter but beautiful in their own right.”

“There are lots of crafts for the children around this time, which is a great opportunity to enjoy some creative play. To add that extra bit of fun, I like to throw in a little easter egg hunt inbetween and of course, chocolate nests as an end of the day activity — all you need is shredded wheat, melted chocolate and mini eggs to add at the end.

The craft I’m going to try with my friend’s children this year are these colourful tags. It’s a good chance to use up those little bits from my stash and it looks really effective as well, so whatever age your little buddy is you’ll be sure to create something that they’ll feel really proud of.”
