Use tissue paper and an alphabet stencil to make an inspirational canvas
• Use PVA glue to cover a 24cm x 30cm canvas with torn tissue paper. Add a border of co-ordinating washi tape. Cut a piece of vellum or tracing paper to fit the interior of the canvas.
• On the reverse of a 16.5cm x 21cm piece of vellum, draw a centre line and six equally spaced horizontals. Flip the paper over and use the guides to stencil ‘Don’t count the days, make the days count’ with a fine-line pen.
• Colour in the letters with a matching brush pen. Fix the panel to the centre of the canvas with adhesive at the corners then cover the glue with decorative elements. Embellish the letters with gems.
• Trace the moustache and spectacles shapes onto the back of patterned paper.
• Using a craft knife, carefully cut out the stencilled motifs.
• Fix a 7cm square of geometric paper to the centre of a slightly larger orange blank. Mount the shapes in the centre with foam pads.
