Our Issue 131 Designer For The Day

Card making Die cutting How to Papercraft Papercrafter Techniques Card Making

PaperCrafter reader Jeanie’s shabby chic design is ideal for a loved one who’s feeling a little under the weather. The calming pastel shades and butterfly toppers make for an elegant design. Plus, don’t just master one technique, mix up your crafting with multiple skills including inking, foiling and laser printing. We’re loving Jeanie’s use of embellishments, too – a little sprinkle of glitter here and there is bound to uplift anyone’s spirits.

Our Issue 131 Designer For The Day

YOU WILL NEED:
Craft essentials
Patterned papers, LemonCraft Forget Me Not
Dies: lace, butterfly
Ink pad, Tim Holtz Distress Broken China
Ranger Stickles, Diamond

METHOD:
1 Create a 13cm x 16cm top-folding white blank. Cut blue patterned paper to the same size and run distress ink in Broken China around the edges. Layer onto the card front.

2 Die cut a butterfly shape and mount it onto adhesive backing paper. Sprinkle blue glitter on top to cover the apertures on the butterfly. Apply Diamond Stickles to the body of the butterfly and around the edges.

3 Take a lace panel die and cut a panel from blue card. Run around the edges using distress ink in Broken China, then adhere to the greeting. Fix a foil sentiment to the centre of the lace die cut with 3D foam pads.

4 Secure lace trim down the left of the card and flower embellishments to the bottom-left and top-right corners. Embellish with decorative stamens and gems. Attach the die-cut butterfly to the bottom-right corner with 3D foam pads to complete.
