Get those party poppers ready! Uniko (uniko.co.uk) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, so we’re giving you a joyous birthday-themed printables pack from the brand itself to mark the occasion. Plus, Beverley Brown shows off multiple ways to use your digi stamps with her colourful greetings – expect rainbow hues, bold sentiments, and confetti aplenty.

In the background
Beverley has used a couple of these digi stamps to boost the backgrounds on her cards. On the bottom-right greeting, ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ sentiments have been duplicated, then stacked to form a colourful and bold background. For the top card, why not copy Beverley’s design by enlarging and duplicating the confetti motif and using it as a base for the monochrome sentiments to sit on? Colour in the confetti using bright, varied hues and keep the sentiments black to ensure they pop.

Sentiment play
You can use the sentiments as they come or manipulate them as Beverley has done with her landscape slimline card opposite. She has made each letter of the ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ sentiments into balloons by adding the balloon string motifs below. She has then printed the letters at different heights to make them look like they are floating. Why not experiment a little and find new ways to adapt your digi stamps?

Slimline cards
Long and narrow cards are incredibly popular right now, and it looks like Beverley is fully embracing the trend too. The landscape slimline card with the sentiment as the focus offers simple yet striking effects. Slimline card types work really well when paired with larger words. Beverley’s portrait slimline card, however, is all about the motifs. She has duplicated the trio of balloons three times and stacked them down the right-hand side of the card, overlapping the edge.

YOU WILL NEED:
Uniko Birthday Digi Stamps
Cardstock, various colours
Alcohol markers
Nuvo Drops, clear
Foil, turquoise
Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator
Laser printer
Adhesives: 3D foam pads, double-sided tape

Bouquet Of Balloons
Create a 10cm x 20.5 cm slimline panel on your computer. Add the balloon motif three times down the right-hand side, then print. Colour in the balloons with alcohol markers. Mount the panel onto a turquoise blank. Print out the block ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ sentiments, trim and adhere to the card using 3D foam pads.

Foiled Confetti
Make a 9.5cm x 13cm canvas on your computer. Place the confetti motif in the centre four times, ensuring to leave a boarder. Print using a laser printer and apply turquoise foil using the Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator. Colour in with alcohol markers. Matt the panel onto pink card, then onto a white landscape blank. Enlarge the bubble ‘Happy’ sentiment using your choice of image editing software. Fill in the letters with black, then print. Cut out the letters and fix to the greeting using 3D foam pads. Print out the block ‘Birthday’ sentiment, trim and secure.

Bubble Birthday
Create a 12cm square canvas on your computer. Add the bubble ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ sentiments to create a background. Colour in the letters digitally, then print. Matt the panel onto black, then a white 13cm square blank. Print and cut out the balloon trio motif, then attach to the greeting using 3D foam pads.

Up, Up & Away
Take the balloon and present motifs, then assemble together. Merge the block ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ words together digitally to create one sentiment. Print out the motifs and sentiments, then trim. Colour in the balloon and present using alcohol markers. Adhere onto white card, 9cm x 12.5cm, followed by the sentiment. Matt onto pink, then layer onto a white 10.5cm x 14cm blank with 3D foam pads.

Rainbow Balloons
Create a landscape 10cm x 20.5 cm slimline canvas on your computer. Add the bubble ‘Happy birthday’ sentiment and alter the height of the letters so they are sat at different levels. Add the balloon strings to the letters and print. Colour in the letters with alcohol markers and apply clear Nuvo Drops. Once dry, matt onto black card, then onto a 11cm x 22cm white blank.
