Celebrate beach finds with this easy starfish card by Jill Alblas
We all love seeing what we can find on the beach, especially during the summer months. This card celebrates exactly that. Go for a stroll along the shore to collect some shells or pop to your nearest craft store for a pack, then it’s time to get stuck in. We’ve added some fabric to increase the tactile feel on this greeting, but you could just use a contrasting colour of cardstock if you haven’t got any to hand. Oh, and shell crafts are a great thing to get kids involved with – why not let them create alongside you?
YOU WILL NEED:
Starfish or large shell
Net
Thick string
Cardstock: white, blue, pale blue
Fabric, gingham
Stamp, sentiment
Adhesives
METHOD:
1. Cover a blank, 9cm x 14cm, with blue card. Trim gingham fabric, 8cm square, fray the edges and fix near the top of the blank.
2. Glue a smaller square of pale blue card in the centre, then secure a net across the front using spots of glue.
3. Adhere a starfish in the middle, then add knotted string. Stamp or adhere a greeting at the bottom of the blank.
