Birthday crafting Card making How to Papercraft Papercrafter Techniques Card Making
Switch up your cardmaking with a whimsical tri-shutter card
YOU WILL NEED:
Craft essentials
Template from papercraftermagazine.co.uk
Ink pads: mauve, pink, brown
Punch, small circle
METHOD:
1. Take a 17.5cm x 30cm card blank and draw vertical lines at 5cm, 10cm, 20cm and 25cm on the reverse. Mark a line 4cm down from the top and 4cm up from the bottom between the 5cm and 25cm lines. Cut along the lines between the 5cm and 25cm points.
2. Score down the 5cm and 25cm lines only in the 4cm deep portions. Score the 10cm and 20cm lines along the whole length. Flip the blank over and fold along the score lines as follows: mountain fold at 5cm, valley fold at 10cm, mountain fold at 20cm and valley fold at 25cm.
3. Make a tri-shutter blank from lilac card using the four-step instructions. Matt yellow polka dot paper onto the front panel and cover the back with lilac polka dot paper. Layer grey bird patterned paper onto the central panel and fix yellow floral paper to the two narrow panels above and below.
4. Stamp the large flower sprig onto the front in dark brown ink along with two butterflies. Print the floral cluster onto the back panel and secure a large yellow flower die-cut on top, then add two butterfly toppers. Attach the ‘Thinking of you’ sentiment to the central panel and add a small yellow bird die-cut to complete.
