Card making How to Papercraft Papercrafter Projects
Angela Finch’s cross-stitched card is one of those truly jaw-dropping makes. Melding a beautifully blended background with one of the most incredible, inventive centrepieces we’ve ever seen, the sentiment, positioned artfully on a strip of vellum, has a renewed sense of power during times like this. One of our all-time favourites. Thanks, Angela!

YOU WILL NEED:
Ink pads: Altenew Rose Quartz, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Mountain Mist, Frayed Leaf, Volcano Lake, Paper Bag; Versamark clear
Stamps, Altenew Sewn With Love
Embossing powders: clear, silver
Dies, Tattered Lace Oval
Vellum
Tools: heat gun, anti-static bag, ink blending, stamping platform, stamping blocks
METHOD:
1. Stamp the Altenew Sewn With Love flower onto a panel of white card. Colour the flower with Rose Quartz, Coral Berry, and Ruby Red ink pads. To colour the leaves and stem, use Frayed Leaf, Mountain Mist and Volcano Lake. Place an oval die over the image, using low-tack tape to keep it in place. Apply the next oval up to create the frame. Die cut the image and the frame.
2. Colour the frame with Altenew Paper Bag, then blend carefully with a blending tool. Take smooth white cardstock, 10.5cm x 15cm, and blend with turquoise inks. Continue until the background is one solid colour, then blend Teal Cave around the edges. Apply an anti-static bag to the blue parts of the card. Using Versamark clear ink, stamp on a triangular pattern from the Altenew Pattern Power set. Treat with clear embossing powder and a heat gun to give it a wallpaper texture.
3. Use an anti-static bag on a trimmed strip of vellum. Stamp on a ‘Live in the moment’ sentiment in clear ink, then add silver embossing powder. If necessary use a dry paintbrush to get rid of any excess. Heat set, then leave to dry. Fix the flower panel to the centre of the greeting, then add the frame with 3D foam pads. Secure the sentiment panel towards the bottom, then mount the entire section onto a 10.5cm x 15cm blank.
