Issue 149 Designer For The Day

How to Papercraft Papercrafter Projects

Our favourite thing about Kasia’s make is that it’s unlike anything we’ve seen before. The mix of rich, bold colours, inventive toppers and unusual embellishments makes this an utterly unique project. Kasia talks below about how important it is to express yourself without fear of being criticised – she’s displayed that perfectly here by crafting a make that is far from traditional and all the better for it.

YOU WILL NEED:
MDF tag
Paint, gesso white, black
Stencil, Hobbilicous Elfland
Patterned papers, Finnabair Mixed Media Tissue Paper, AB Studio Diva
Embellishments: Hobbilicous Hobballs small bag; cheesecloth

METHOD:
1. Apply white acrylic paint to an MDF tag. Secure rice paper onto the tag, then apply texture paste through the Hobbilicious Elfland stencil.

2. Fix a purple wooden decoration over the rice paper, as well as a fine cheesecloth towards the centre. Stretch this out so it overlaps the edges. Embellish with die-cut flowers and leaves.

3. Paint a selection of Hobbilicous hobballs yellow, then adhere in various places on the tag. Add a ‘Where the wind blows’ sentiment topper towards the right-hand side, along with a die-cut bird motif.
