Halloween Slider Card

Card making Halloween cards Halloween crafts How to Papercraft Papercrafter Techniques Projects

This Halloween slider card uses some crafty magic from Colette Smith and combines it with something a little bit spooky. Once you’ve seen the fun her Halloween slider card brings to proceedings, you wonder why you’d bother making anything else. It’s not just that
joyous interactive element that makes Colette’s ghost slider card stand out of course – she’s also included a gorgeously blended inky background that’s perfect for the occasion. The best bit? It’s easier than ever thanks to our ghost SVG file!

METHOD:

1. Cut the ghost from white card with the template or SVG file. Punch circles for eyes, then shade the cheeks with pink and add a mouth with a black fineliner

2. Snip white card to 13.5cm square. Die cut a 5.5cm circle from masking paper and apply to the top-left corner with low-tack tape

3. Blend purple, pink and orange inks over the panel. Start with purple at the top, blending into pink, then orange

4. Remove the mask carefully and spritz the inked panel with shimmer spray

5. Trim to 13cm square and die cut a wavy slider aperture towards the top. Set the piece to one side

6. Create a 13.5cm square white blank. Line up the inked panel on top and use the slot as a guide to attach the wavy slider piece with glue

7. Glue the ghost to black card and trim, leaving a narrow border. Attach a slider disc and back with a circle of white card

8. Cut a 4cm x 13cm strip of black card, trim a wavy section across one edge and attach to the base of the inked panel

9. Add the ghost into the slider slot. Apply foam tape around the back of the panel, ensuring there’s enough room for the slider to move freely. Attach to the blank and finish with our sentiment
