Shape up
The Angela Poole collection we’ve used is packed with detailed stamps and dies that work together beautifully for these Matryoshka doll cards – they allow you to create different varieties of characters with ease. The A4 stencils simply beg to be used with the large Gelli printing plate, so why not enjoy a creative play and make your own custom backgrounds for a stylish folksy look?

Mix it up
When it comes to working with mixed media and specifically with the Gelli plate, it’s really easy to pull off a nice, distressed look. This is why you don’t want to clean any residual paint off the Gelli plate between prints. Just add more paint and gel on top. It’s ‘perfectly imperfect’, which is why we recommend using this niche method. This is just a preference, and if you’re looking for a neater look, wipe it down after each application.
