Make stories from your stamps
One of the overlooked aspects of cardmaking is the storytelling possibilities, as demonstrated by Laura bradley here. A snowman trying to clamber out of a card, a reindeer that may have had one too many candy canes and a bunch of over inquisitive mice around a present and baubles, they’re the type of visuals that have you wanting to know what happens next.

Christmas icons – with a twist
You can’t Christmas without Santa. Your recipient will have seen him appear on their cards a million times which means the same old designs aren’t going to cut it. We love the look of Laura Bradley’s figures, precisely because they’re fresh and exciting – they’ve got this wonderfully loose style of illustration, as if they’ve just stumbled into life.

Putting on the spritz
Spritzing is a technique as old as crafting itself – and it makes sense when you see the effect it can have on cards. Be careful not to overdo it; it never hurts to start off sparingly, increasing the volume when necessary. But also don’t be scared to experiment – maybe you’ll find a new blotchy effect that you completely fall in love with!
